MCM Fellowship
Though one may be overpowered by another, two can withstand him. And a threefold cord is not quickly broken. (Ecclesiastes 4:12 NKJV)
Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity! … For there the LORD commanded the blessing- Life forevermore. (Psalms 133:1, 3b NKJV)
Mainstream Christian Ministries Affiliation
Affiliation with Mainstream Christian Ministries as a MCM Fellowship Member is offered to churches, ministries and Christian organisations who:
- Wish to become part of a community of believers that share with, pray for, encourage and admonish one another so that Jesus may be exalted, God glorified and His Kingdom built throughout this earth;
- Wish to encourage and set an example of unity, openness, integrity, mutual respect and love among all believers in Christ Jesus;
- Wish to eliminate competitiveness, division and backbiting, self-serving practices and isolation within the Body of Christ;
- Believe that in Christ, each believer, ministry and church has a God-Given, and equally important part to play, and only together do we make up the One Body in Christ;
- Can agree with the core message and beliefs of Mainstream, as set out in the sections: ‘The Message’, ‘We Are One’ and ‘What We Believe’.
Membership affiliation is more than just a partnership. It is a formal commitment to one another, a covenant relationship between all members and the Lord. The purpose is to support one another in each member’s individual calling, and together to advance the Kingdom of God, the message of unity, and the Gospel of Christ, in all its fullness.
This should not be confused however with joining a denomination or merging with one another. Each member is responsible before the Lord to fulfil their calling and the running of their own established ministry; while individual styles of worship, structure and leadership are respected and celebrated.
Neither should membership be seen simply as a way to gain financially. While Mainstream seeks to find support and resources for the projects and mission of the whole membership, it should not be confused with a grant-making organisation, or seen only as a potential donor to a single project or ministry.
As in the early church, members should be willing to share with one another as the Lord provides, so that the primary purpose of proclaiming the Gospel, showing the Love of Christ to those who are lost and in need, and building each other up in our relationship with each other and the Lord is fulfilled.
The Leadership of Mainstream Christian Ministries is committed to assisting each member in the development of their individual ministry and calling through encouragement, teaching, advice and counsel, in both spiritual and practical matters. However, they are not involved in the day-to-day leadership or running of the member’s ministry or assume any institutional governance over the member’s ministry.
If you feel the Lord may be leading you to join with Mainstream as a Fellowship Member, then please read the section; ‘Commitments’ and either contact us for more information, or complete the ‘Fellowship Information Form’.
Mainstream Christian Ministry Churches
Mainstream’s central calling is to bring a message of Christ-Centred unity and a return to our “First Love”; and to be an example of this message. As such, we aim to encourage, teach and build-up believers in Christ, as they are assembled in local churches. Then, through these churches, reach out to the communities they are in and beyond to minister the Gospel to the world, through evangelistic meetings, outreach programmes, aid, education and social welfare programmes.
We encourage and work with our Fellowship Members to plant new churches and ministries wherever possible. It is not our intention to create a new denomination, church grouping or ministry that then is in competition with local churches; rather we always seek to partner with them in ministry as the Lord has ordained.
However, there may be times and in certain regions where there is no Gospel Witness, and in which our Fellowship Members do not operate. In this case, as we feel the Lord leads, we will plant new churches who would be under the direct leadership of Mainstream. Even in this case, should other local churches exist, but do not wish to affiliate with Mainstream, we will still attempt, as far as it depends on us, to work with them in reaching the Lost.
There may also be times, in these same circumstances, when a small church or minister wishes to come under the spiritual covering and pastoral care of Mainstream, to be part of a larger body. We would, in these cases, consider their request prayerfully before the Lord.
A Mainstream Christian Ministry Church, in addition to agreeing with the criteria for Fellowship Members, would in addition, come under the direct pastoral care and governance of Mainstream.
If you are a minister, church or ministry that is seeking such a situation, then contact us so that we may prayerfully consider your request, and discuss this together.
