Zimbabwe Info

Looking forward

Due to the events of recent years this beautiful and previously productive country that had once been called “the breadbasket of Africa”, has been laid waste; not by natural disaster, outside forces or war, but by those in authority (at many levels) who put self-interest, power and greed above the welfare of their people.  Now, with a somewhat more stable (but still critical) situation, there is hope for the first time in years that the Lord is taking this land and its people into a new and brighter season.

However, it is important to keep Zimbabwe and especially the Church in your prayers.  There is still violence and intimidation; the country’s infrastructure is still in ruin, and the economic situation remains poor, with many not able to provide for even their most basic needs.  The political situation is fragile, with a long way to go before it can really be considered stable.

Our brothers and sisters in Zimbabwe, and especially Christian leaders must lead the way in both word and practice if real change is to occur.  To do so they need the support of Body of Christ worldwide.  None of us who are in Christ is called to stand alone.
